Educating Young Voters allows students to get accurate, nonpartisan voting information and feel prepared to participate in democracy.

Youth Ambassadors

Students (high school, tech/vocation, and college) who present our voting curriculum to help educate peers on voting.  They also have opportunities to present our voting curriculum to youth community groups.

What You Will Do:

  • Peer education
  • Present Educating Young Voters
  • Run or assist at voter registration events
  • Participate in the LWVDenver Youth Council

Expectations:
  • Attend training
  • Time commitment can vary depending on your schedule
  • Presentation opportunities

Is Educating Young Voters nonpartisan?

Yes! The League is strictly nonpartisan - we neither support nor oppose candidates for office. Educating Young Voters Program is also nonpartisan.

At the same time, the League is wholeheartedly political and works to influence policy through Advocacy. Young Voters can work with the League on Advocacy if they choose.

Yes, in order to fully participate in the Educating Young Voters program, Youth Ambassadors will work directly with administration and faculty sponsor. Membership in the Youth Council does not require school permission.

Yes. Training will be provided for both voter registration and for youth voter education presentations.
