Some Ideas from Jeanette for Unite and Rise 8.5

Let’s help mobilize 8.5 million people to use their power of voter engagement as a cornerstone of our democracy.  Here’s what YOU can do through the League.
  1. Participate in at least 1 action alert from the local, state or national League.
  2. Attend one League advocacy event --  Watch the Denver League speaking at the City Council meeting on Monday, October 27 to support a vote for additional funds for the Clerk and Recorder’s office for the 2026 elections. Then use this Action Alert to contact the Mayor.
  3. Share Vote411.org with 5 friends or neighbors. Share the Denver Ballot Issues: What a Yes or No Vote Means too.
  4. Commit to Unite & Rise at lwv.org/uniteandrise.  Sign the statement and join other voters promising to take action to save our democracy.

Advocacy in the City

We continue to advocate for increased funding in the Mayor's 2026 budget for the Clerk and Recorder's Office (See our recent Action Alert to LWVD members).  Several League members attended the public hearing held by City Council on the city budget Monday, October 27.  LWVD spoke in support of adequate funding for the 2026 primary and general elections. The testimony can be found here and viewed here (our testimony starts at time 1:47:12).
