What Can We Do??
The new administration has implemented several executive orders with regards to transgender folks (recognizing only two sexes—male & female; restricting gender affirming care for youth; excluding trans women from women’s sports; banning transgender folks from the military). Just yesterday, a transgender congresswoman in Congress was repeatedly addressed as Mr. To support our transgender neighbors and community members, here are some actions we can take:
Take a Bystander Intervention class to learn how to best support folks experiencing discrimination in our community.
Support locally transgender owned organizations.
Volunteer with organizations advocating for trans and LGBTQIA rights.
