The League is strictly nonpartisan. We neither support nor oppose candidates for office. At the same time, the League is wholeheartedly political and works to influence policy through advocacy.

About this event

Join the League of Women Voters of Denver to learn how your reproductive freedom may be impacted by the upcoming election, formerly known as Initiative 89. We'll be welcoming representatives from Cobalt and The Women's Foundation of Colorado, two organizations that led the charge to get Initiative 89 on the ballot.

Members and non-members welcome!

What is being proposed?

A change to the Colorado constitution recognizing the right to abortion, and, in connection therewith, prohibiting the state and local governments from denying, impeding, or discriminating against the exercise of that right, allowing abortion to be a covered service under health insurance plans for Colorado state and local government employees and for enrollees in state and local governmental insurance programs.
